Baseball Picked to Finish 12th in LSC Preseason Poll

RICHARDSON, Texas - With opening day just over a week away, Oklahoma Christian was tabbed twelfth in the 2026 Lone Star Conference Preseason Poll, the league announced Thursday, Jan. 22.

NCBWA No. 4 UT Tyler and No. 11 Angelo State split the first-place votes, 20 a piece, with the Patriots edging out the Rams in total votes, 603 to 599 to take the top spot. (RV) Lubbock Christian, St. Edward's and West Texas A&M round out the top-5.

While bringing in 18 transfers, head coach Lonny Cobble brings back Second Team All-Conference outfielder Trey Migl, who led the team with 61 hits while being tied for the team-lead with a .363 batting average. Additionally, Migl's 13 home runs was the sixth most in a single season in program history.

Joining Migl among the returners is Elijah Laus, who finished as third on the team with 48 hits. Highlighting the newcomers is OC's LSC Pitcher to Watch junior lefty Corbin Kwan from Northern Oklahoma College-Enid and outfielder Tanner Forbus from NCAA Division II Point Loma.

Oklahoma Christian begins the 2026 season at Dobson Baseball Field when it faces LSC-newcomer UT Dallas in a three-game series beginning Friday, Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
