LAKEWOOD, Colo. - The Eagles got their first win of the season against Western Colorado Saturday afternoon, 1-0.
What Went DownÂ
- The Eagles put themselves on the board early by scoring a goal in the 14' minute, leading to the 1-0 tally at halftime.
- Even with Western Colorado's eight shots on goal, Oklahoma Christian was able to defend them, ending the game at 1-0.
Notes
- Sophie Placke scored the only goal of the game off an assist from Ruta Andrews. The junior transfer now has one goal and one assist through two matches.
- Breanna Wooten played a great match with eight saves, issuing her first clean sheet of the young season.
- The Eagles played strong and persisting defense, stopping Western Colorado's 13 shots, which played a major part in their win.
