SAN ANTONIO, Texas - No. 18 Oklahoma Christian picked up two big wins Sunday afternoon to split its four-game weekend trip to the Lone Star State, defeating St. Mary's, 9-6 and 6-1.
In game two,
Grace Anderson (10-3) got the complete-game win after allowing just one run and four hits while striking out eight batters compared to three walks.
At the plate,
Kallie Rupp (4-for-7) recorded a pair of hits in both contests, including a triple and a double, to go with four runs scored and two RBI.
Victoria Brazil recorded her third home run of the season to sit tied for the team lead following the doubleheader.
Marti Yaerger extended her hitting streak and on-base streak to 17 and 21, respectively, as she continues to pace the Eagles with 35 hits - tied for 19th in the Lone Star Conference - and 20 RBI.
No. 18 Oklahoma Christian (19-9, 12-8 LSC) will return to Lawson Softball Complex for a Sooner State showdown when it battles No. 6 Rogers State in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday, Mar. 18 starting at 3 p.m.
Game One: No. 18 Oklahoma Christian 9, St. Mary's 6
It took two innings for Oklahoma Christian to establish a 7-0 lead. The first seven runs started and ended with Brazil, with an RBI-single from the true freshman scoring fellow true freshman Yaerger to get the scoring started.
After three more runs came in the second, Brazil capitalized the busy frame with a two-out, three-run shot to open the 7-0 lead. St. Mary's got two runs back with its own crooked number in the second to cut the deficit to five, 7-2.
The Eagles' final two RBI came from the Brewster sisters in the third and seventh inning, sandwiched around three home runs from the Rattlers to bring the OC lead to 9-6. St. Mary's brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh before pitcher

Game Two: No. 18 Oklahoma Christian 6, St. Mary's 1
For the second time of the day, the Eagles put up a crooked number in the second inning, this time using a double from Rupp and a single from
Presley Main to establish a 3-0 lead. St. Mary's cut into the lead by one run in the third with an RBI-single to bring the tally to 3-1.
Anderson allowed just one more hit following the Rattlers' first run as the Eagles' offense added three more runs before the end of the game. Two of those three runs came in the top of the sixth with three hits from Ka. Brewster, Yaerger and
Maci George, all of which came with two outs.
Kate Paulsen recorded her third home run of the season for OC's final run in the seventh frame as StMU, after a lead-off hit, was retired in order to clinch the doubleheader sweep, 6-1. Â
