Lady Eagle Seniors Leave It All on the Floor in Heartbreaking Loss

LAWTON, Okla.- Oklahoma Christian (10-16, LSC 7-15) closed out the season with a down-to-the-wire heartbreaking loss to in-state adversary Cameron (8-18, LSC 6-16) to close out the 2024-2025 season.

First Quarter

With the two teams battling for leverage in the first minutes of play, the Lady Eagles looked to the continued red-hot play of senior guard Nakia Cullom.

Cullom dropped five in the first quarter of play to keep the Lady Eagles within striking distance.

Second Quarter

The Lady Eagles and the Aggies entered the second quarter trading baskets, and both teams quickly hit from any distance before the half.

Cullom partnered with fellow senior Jordan Francisco and scored seven points in the quarter. However, the home team, the Aggies, made a few key defensive stops to take a ten-point lead into the break.

Third Quarter

The break in the action caused the Aggies to lose some steam on the offensive end, but the Lady Eagles continued to hit well from the field, outscoring the Aggies 22-15. Highlighted by a stellar 11-point quarter from Nakia Cullom to bring her total for the night to 25 points.

OC grabbed the lead away from the Aggies midway through the third quarter, but Cameron, behind the momentum of their home fans, went on a small run to take the lead back from OC and enter the final ten minutes of the season with a one-point advantage.

Fourth Quarter

Francisco and the two other seniors, Ewa Kielar and Kate Bradley, led the Lady Eagles to the lead from the Aggies early in the final quarter and held the line until the final two minutes of play.

The Cameron Aggies found a way to weave in the lane and make a few late-and-one opportunities to take the lead with just 30 seconds left.

With the Lady Eagles having to foul late and Cameron knocking down free throws, the Lady Eagles would leave Lawton with a 65-69 loss to end the season.
