OC One of 43 DII Schools to Earn Presidents' Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Oklahoma Christian Athletics was named as one of 43 Division II schools to earn the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, the NCAA announced Thursday, Nov. 20.

In the 15th year the award has been presented, the Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence is granted to schools that have achieved an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90% or higher. 2025 is the second year in a row OC has found itself among the nation's best academically.

Per the NCAA, "the Division II ASR includes transfers into a school in the calculation and removes those who transferred out of the school while academically eligible. The ASR also includes over 30,000 non-scholarship student-athletes in the division who were enrolled in the four years covered in the most recent data."

"Even when using the less-inclusive federal graduation rate, student-athletes are outperforming their peers in the general student population by five percentage points. For Division II student-athletes, the federal rate is 58%, while the general student body federal rate is 53%."

Oklahoma Christian was only one of two current full-time members of the Lone Star Conference to be recognized among the select 43. The University of Texas at Dallas, which is in the midst of the transition to becoming a full-time member of the LSC in 2026-27, was also recognized for the award. The Eagles are also the only department in Oklahoma to garner recognition in 2025.

"We are committed to our student-athletes' success and ultimately that means graduating from OC," athletics director David Lynn said. "This award is a reflection of a lot of hard work on our campus and a true team effort between multiple departments to make sure our students can be successful. We are so fortunate to have a faculty and staff at OC that make our students' success their daily mission."

Oklahoma Christian Athletics came into the 2025 fall semester off its highest department-wide GPA in nearly a decade at 3.26 in the 2024-25 academic year.
