Volleyball Set for Road Trip at Midwestern, Lubbock

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian takes its second Lone Star road trip of the conference season when the Eagles meet Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas, Friday, Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. and then Lubbock Christian Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (10-4, 2-2 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian returns to league action Friday and Saturday after playing Southeastern Oklahoma State Tuesday, Oct. 7 in a non-conference contest. After defeating SE earlier this season at a neutral site, OC went into Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium in Durant, Okla., and took down the Savage Storm in four sets.

In Tuesday's victory, Chloe Jones led the way after tying her career high with 25 digs and adding 11 kills for her fourth double-double of the season. Jones is now three kills shy of becoming just the third Eagle to ever accumulate 500 kills for her career while also becoming the first player in program history with 500 career kills and 500 career digs.

As a team, OC is third in the conference in hitting percentage (.236) while being ninth in opponent hitting percentage (.181). Middle blocker Camryn McGough leads the way in the efficiency category after hitting .380 through 14 matches, which is tied for second best in the LSC. In the Eagles' wins, they are hitting .255 compared to .186 in their losses.

Oklahoma Christian enters this weekend with a two-match win streak over Midwestern State while having also won six consecutive sets over the Mustangs. Friday's match will be OC's first trip to Wichita Falls when facing MSU since 2022 with the maroon-and-gray having not beaten Midwestern on its home floor since 2021. Friday will be the Eagles' second trip to D.L. Ligon Coliseum this season, however, going 3-0 at the season-opening Midwestern State Invitational.

Saturday will be the season's second meeting with Lubbock Christian as the Lady Chaparrals took three against OC inside the Payne Athletics Center during the LSC Challenge. Last year, the Eagles defeated LCU for the first time in program history, taking down Lubbock on its home floor, 3-1. The Eagles' defense delivered 17 blocks in last season's victory as Avery Cole and current-Eagle Lauren Cary each were responsible for eight blocks.

SCOUTING MIDWESTERN STATE (9-4, 3-2 LSC)
Midwestern State welcomes Oklahoma Christian while holding a tie for fourth in the LSC standings after delivering its best 13-match start since 2008. After starting the year 3-2, the Mustangs have won six of their last eight and are a perfect 5-0 at home in 2025.

The Mustangs as a team are second in the conference with 17.11 points per set while being fourth in hitting percentage (.233) while hodling at sixth in opponent hitting percentage (.159). Midwestern is also third in the league with 13.71 kills per set, aided by senior outside hitter Trinity Vinzant, who is seventh in the LSC with 3.33 kills per set.

SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (13-4, 5-0 LSC)
As of Thursday, Oct. 9, Lubbock Christian is 5-0 in LSC play for the first time since 2021 when the Lady Chaparrals went 14-3 in league play and reached the LSC Tournament Semifinals. Lubbock comes into Friday's match against Cameron riding a nine-match win streak.

Entering the weekend, LCU is third in the conference with 16.76 points per game and paces the league with 13.12 assists per set as well as tied for first with 13.8 kills per set. Aiding the offense is one of the best one-two punches in the LSC as Lily Bickley (171) and Emilee Sikora (154) are one of three sets of teammates in the conference to boast at least 150 kills.
