OC Falls in High Scoring Affair to West Texas, 4-2

CANYON, Texas - Oklahoma Christian fought back from a 2-0 hole before West Texas A&M separated itself from the maroon-and-gray late for the 4-2 victory Wednesday night.

What Went Down
  • West Texas A&M got on the board first with a goal in the 12'.
  • With OC without a shot on goal through much of the first half, WT took advantage and added a second goal to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
  • Ethan Nakolo broke OC's scoring hiatus with a goal 18 minutes into second half action to mark his fifth consecutive contest with a goal.
  • Eight minutes later, Nakolo delivered the game's first tie and his fourth multi-goal match of the season as play stood at 2-2.
  • In the final 15 minutes, the Buffaloes broke away from the Eagles with two more goals to claim the 4-2 victory.
Notes
  • Nakolo continues his historic scoring streak as he now has 13 goals on the season and 11 goals in NCAA play, which is the most by an OC player for a single season in the NCAA Division II era.
  • Nakolo now has four matches where he has scored at least two goals, which is the most in the Lone Star Conference and tied for the most in all of NCAA Division II.
