EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian defeated DBU Saturday night in the Eagles' conference home opener, 3-1, behind
Ethan Nakolo's third multi-goal match in his last four outings.
What Went Down
- An aggressive OC offense put quick and early pressure on the DBU back line before cashing in with Nakolo's first goal of the match at the 18:02 mark off an assist from Igor Caballero.
- A Patriot foul from just outside the box early in the second half yielded the maroon-and-gray's next goal as Jorge Blanc's free kick hit off the crossbar before Luca Friederich cleaned it up for the 2-0 Oklahoma Christian lead.
- Just over 60 seconds later, DBU converted on a corner kick to cut its deficit in half, 2-1. The Eagles' defense held up, however, with great tackles from Blanc and Ezra Moser on breakaway runs for the Patriots to keep the advantage.
- In the 63', Nakolo's second goal came following a foul in the box as the conference's current goals leader put the penalty kick in the back of the net for what would be the eventual final score, 3-1.
