RICHARDSON, Texas - Following a week without allowing a single goal, Oklahoma Christian women's soccer goalkeeper
Breanna Wooten was named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference announced Monday, Oct. 20.
This is the first time OC has received a conference player of the week honor of any kind this season and Wooten's second time in her career to earn the recognition.
The award was bestowed following a perfect week for the third-year goalie where she held Texas A&M International and UT Permian Basin scoreless in what resulted in a 1-0 win and 0-0 draw, respectively. Wooten is currently tied with a league-leading five shutouts, including a current three-match such streak.
The Wylie, Texas, native capped her award-winning week with a career-high 10-save performance against the Falcons to claim the result for the Eagles. 10 saves is tied for the tenth most saves in a single match in the conference this season.
Oklahoma Christian (6-5-2, 4-4-1 LSC) will face LSC-newcomer UT Dallas on the road Wednesday, Oct. 22 before returning home for a date with No. 1 DBU Saturday, Oct. 25 at 5 p.m.
