Oklahoma Christian Dominates in 6-2 Win over East Central

ADA, Okla. - Despite falling behind two different times early on, Oklahoma Christian came back and dominated East Central down the stretch, 6-2. The win improves OC to 3-0-1, which matches its best four-game start to a season since joining NCAA Division II.

What Went Down
  • East Central got the scoring started with a goal in the fourth minute to take the early 1-0 lead
  • Both OC and ECU exchanged goals over the next 10 minutes to keep the Tigers up by one.
  • Kyla Lovelace's first goal came in the 19' to give the game its second tie.
  • Lovelace's second goal handed OC its first lead of the contest at the 24:30 mark.
  • The Eagles added two more goals to bring their first-half total to five before a sixth goal in the 73' minute complete the scoring barrage.
Notes
  • Kyla Lovelace scored two goals today, bringing her season total to four goals. Lovelace is currently tied for the most goals in the Lone Star Conference.
  • The Eagles' six goals is the most in a single game in the DII era, with them having not scored more than four goals in a game since last year's preseason.
  • Layla Lopez scored her first goal as an Eagle as the former Oral Roberts defender scored OC's first goal all the way from a corner kick.
  • Ruta Andrews scored her first goal of the season to extend OC's lead to two in the 34', 4-2
  • Jadynn Daggs followed sister Jaycie Dagg's lead as the Daggs sisters each scored their first goals of the season.
