Softball Splits Doubleheader with No. 23 Rambelles

San Angelo, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (14-8, 10-4) traveled down to take on Angelo State (17-7, 8-6) in a weekend conference three-game series.

Game 1

With a lead-off single from Brooklin Bain, the Eagles started strong against the Rambelles, and the twins, Kiley and Kadence Brewster put the ball in play along with Aaliyah Brown, which led to Brooklin scoring a Rambelles error, giving the Eagles the early lead.

In the top of the fifth inning, the Eagles got rolling with Whitney Walde getting on base with a hit-by-pitch, Bain followed that with a double to left field to put them both in scoring position, and Kiley Brewster once again came up clutch with a Two-RBI single. And Kiley was brought in with an RBI from Brown.

The Eagles kept the momentum going with a Kristen Whitehouse lead-off single. And she was driven in by a Walde double to the right-field corner. Walde was brought in by an RBI single from Bain, giving OC a six-run lead going into the bottom of the sixth, with Grace Anderson continuing to pitch a shutout performance.

The Rambelles got one run across before the Eagles would claim the game-one victory, 6-1.

Game 2

Oklahoma Christian found themselves down in the bottom of the second, as ASU was able to get three across.

OC got one back in the top of the third with Tristyn Hamilton getting on with a lead-off single, followed by a Kiley Brewster single to left field and an Aaliyah Brown single. Kandace Brewster then drew the walk to bring Hamilton in from third.

The Eagles found themselves with a few chances with runners in scoring position but were unable to get any more runs across, leading to the Rambelles evening up the series, 1-1.
