Eagles and No. 5 UT Tyler Go to 10 Innings in Game One Thriller, Before Patriots Take Doubleheader

Oklahoma City, Okla. - After an intense 10-inning series opener, the Eagles drop the doubleheader against the No. 5 Patriots.

Game 1
OC got on the board first in game 1 of the doubleheader thanks to a triple into right-center by Kylie Brewster. She would then score the Eagles' first run of the day on a SAC Fly RBI by her sister, Kadence Brewster.

Both teams went quiet behind the plate, struggling to put together some offense up until the fourth inning. UT Tyler mustered up a strong fourth, tacking on 3 runs to lead OC 3-1. Heading into the bottom of the fifth, Brooklin Bain reached on a lead-off walk. She would then go on to score the Eagles' second run thanks to a sacrifice bunt by Kylie Brewster, followed by the RBI single by Kadence. OC trailed 3-2.

The Eagles put together a huge sixth inning, where they would retake the lead. Whitney Walde started the inning with a lead-off single, followed by Brooklin Bain drawing the walk. Kiley Brewster would then drive in the tying run, Walde, with the RBI single. Bain and Brewster would go on to score the Eagles' fourth and fifth runs of the game on a UT Tyler error and Aaliyah Brown single, respectively. The Eagles went into the top of the 7th leading, 5-3.

The Patriot offense responded with a two-run home run in the 7th to send the game to extra innings.

The 10-inning duel would come to a close after UT Tyler doubled to center field, scoring the lead-off batter who reached on an OC fielding error. The Eagles were unable to respond with a run of their own, giving the Patriots the win in game 1 of the doubleheader.

Game 2
The Eagles and the Patriots were tied at zero going into the Second inning, then the Patriots were able to find their groove on offense, scoring in the next three innings.

The Eagles had several chances to score but could not get any runs across the plate.

OC would drop game 2 of the doubleheader 9-0.
