What Went Down
Jadan Boyce picked up where he left off last weekend with an RBI double in the bottom of the second to give OC a 1-0 lead. Boyce's double scored
Sloan Laird, who reached base on a double of his own.
Â
The Lions put up four runs in the top of the third inning, scoring them on three hits, an error, and stranding one. And they added two more in the top of the fourth, giving them a 6-1 lead.
Â
Chris Jones had a massive four-inning stretch in relief, fanning nine Lions and only allowing two hits to give Oklahoma Christian a chance to rally.
Â
OC's offense rode that momentum into the bottom of the eighth and tied the game during a four-run inning.
Sloan Laird started the rally with a single, and
Reed Carroll followed that up with a two-run bomb to left center.
Johnny Behm followed the home run with a double, and
Michael Buckley brought Behm home on an RBI double.
Antonio Sabala tied the game by bringing Buckley home on an RBI single.
Â
In the top of the ninth, the Lions regained the momentum with back-to-back solo shots that went on to be the winning runs.
