Eagles Split Doubleheader in Midweek Series Opener

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (12-7, 8-3) hosted Cameron (10-5. 6-5) for their midweek series matchup on Tuesday.

Game 1
OC took an early lead when Kadence Brewster drove in Brooklin Bain, who reached on a single, stole second, and advanced on a passed ball. Brewster also stole second and was driven in on an RBI single from Karsyn Iltis.

The Eagles held the lead until the top of the fourth when the Aggies tied the game on a two-run home run.

Oklahoma Christian responded quickly, and with back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the fourth, they regained the lead. Iltis doubled to lead off the inning, and Kristen Whitehouse drove her in with an RBI double. After a Kiley Brewster single that advanced Whitehouse to third, Whitehouse scored on an error, giving OC a 4-2 lead.

Jill Dickson continued dealing in the circle, only giving up three hits while striking out four Aggies en route to her sixth win of the season.

Game 2
The Aggies were fast to get onto the board when, in the top of the second, with a baserunner on, the Aggies were able to hit a two-run home run to grab the lead.

As the cold front blew in, the bats of the Eagles continued to struggle, as the Aggies were finding their stride, able to make solid contact with the ball several times.

The Eagles found a little light in the bottom of the 6th, led off by an infield base hit by Tristyn Hamilton, then took advantage of an overthrown ball to finish on third with the very next play, being driven in by Brooklin Bain on a sacrifice hit.

The Eagles were unable to build on the momentum and will look to finish off the Aggies tomorrow in game three.

Up Next
The Eagles will match up with the Aggies for the series finale on Wednesday afternoon, beginning at 3 p.m. The game was originally set for 6 p.m. but has moved to beat out the potential of weather.
