San Antonio, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (3-8, 3-6) rallied from an 8-0 deficit to pick up a win in the series-opening game against St. Mary's (5-9, 4-9) on Friday night.
What Went Down
St. Mary's scored at least one run in the first three innings, scoring three in the bottom of the first on an RBI double and a two-run home run. The Rattlers added a single run in the bottom of the second on a bases-loaded walk and put four on the board in the bottom of the third on a grand slam.
Ethan Box got the Eagles on the board in the top of the fifth, playing
Hunter Jones and
Antonio Sabala, and Sabala picked up an RBI in the top of 6th on a bases-loaded hit by pitch.
Sloan Laird followed that up by earning an RBI in the same fashion, and Jones cleared the bases on a three-RBI triple to cut the lead down to one at 8-7.
Box kept the scoring streak going, tying the game on an RBI single, scoring Jones, and
Alejandro Sanchez gave the Eagles their first lead on an RBI triple that scored Box.
Justin Spencer wrapped up the eight-run inning with an RBI single that plated Sanchez, giving OC a 10-8 lead.
STMU picked up another run in the bottom of the sixth, but it would be their last as OC's pitching locked in down the stretch.

Silas Cowgill pitched three scoreless innings, earning a rare three-inning save, his first save of the season.
