Lady Eagles Take Two-Game Road Trip Across New Mexico

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (4-19, LSC 3-16) will travel to play Eastern New Mexico (8-16, LSC 4-14) and Western New Mexico (8-15, LSC 3-15) in one of their final road trips of the year. 

What to Know About OC 

  • Coach Markeith Brown is in his second season as the Lady Eagles head coach. 

  • The Eagles currently sit last in the East Division of the LSC. With the opportunity to jump over both teams, they play this week. 

  • Senior guard Asiyha Smith is making a mark in her first season as an Eagle, averaging 11.3 points per game and 2.6 assists. Smith has had five games scoring in double digits. Smith sits at 12th in the LSC leaders in blocked shots with 11 total blocks.

  • The Lady Eagles have also seen good production from redshirt sophomore Taylor Jackson, who, coming off the bench, has provided production on both ends of the court, including four games scoring at least 13 points and being a force on the boards.

  • Brooklin Bain has finished her career as a Lady Eagle basketball player. Bain has left an incredible mark on the program, capped off this past weekend by passing her mother - Misty (Mitchell) Bain, on the All-Time Rebounding list, jumping into the top 10. She is also now in the top 20 in scoring all-time. This season, she averaged 14.5 points per game on 44% shooting percentage, averaging 8.4 rebounds per game, and finished the year with 8 double-doubles.

What To Know About the Greyhounds 

  • Blake Huber is in his first as the head coach of the Greyhounds. Before coaching at Eastern New Mexico, he spent time at Texas A&M-Texarkana and Arkansas Tech, where he had seen success.

  • The Greyhounds sit 13th in the Lone Star conference rankings. With three games left to play, the Greyhounds are four games outside of the top-8. 

  • The Greyhounds are led by Ishuana Hunter, averaging 14.9 points per game,7.9 rebounds, and just over 1 steal a game. Hunter has three games this season, scoring 20+ points. 

  • Another force for the Greyhounds is senior guard/forward Deja Adrian. Adrian is averaging 13.9 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, and 2 assists per game. 

  • The Greyhounds are averaging 60 points a game, with a field goal percentage of 39%.

What To Know About the Mustang 

  • Josh Pace is the head coach of the Mustangs. Pace is well aware of what success looks like in basketball, having won a national championship as a player with Syracuse in 2003 under legendary coach Jim Boeheim and future Hall of Fame teammate Carmelo Anthony. 

  • The Mustangs are led by senior Sydney Wright, averaging 11 points per game and 2.8 rebounds a game.
