Eagles Gearing Up for Final Week at Home

Oklahoma City, Okla - Oklahoma Christian (11-2, LSC 8-9) returns to the nest for their final home games of the season against St. Mary's (10-12, LSC 6-10) and St. Edwards (17-8, LSC 10-6). 

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT OC
  • Head coach Kendre Talley is in his fifth season as the Eagles head coach.
  • The Eagles currently sit at ninth in the conference standings with the chance to jump to eighth with two home wins. The top eight teams in the LSC make the conference tournament. 
  • Moun'Tae Edmundson leads the Eagles, averaging 13.9 points per game, 4.5 boards, 2.6 assists, and a steal per game. He is in the top 16 in scoring in the LSC and has been a crucial part of OC's success.
  • Seniors Quinton Johnson II and Hunter Staten have also helped shoulder the load, adding 11.4 and 9.3 points per game, respectively.
  • The Eagles split their last two games on the road and are looking to get two big wins to close out the home series.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT ST. MARY'S 
  • Bubba Meyer is in his first season as head coach for the Rattlers after spending 23 years playing for and assisting the program.
  • The Rattlers have struggled to gain traction this season, posting a 6-10 conference record and sitting three spots below the Eagles in the LSC standings.
  • St. Mary's is led by senior guard Davion Coleman, averaging 14.6 points per game, 3.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.3 steals.
  • The Rattlers do a good job of spreading the wealth – they sit in the top 5 in assists and have seen three of their five starters averaging double-digits.
THE LAST MATCHUP 
  • The Eagles went wire to wire with St. Mary's when they met up earlier this season, but the Rattlers were able to squeak out the 77-75 victory against OC. Seniors Hunter Staten and Moun'Tae Edmundson put together strong performances in the loss with 19 and 18 points, respectively.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT ST. EDWARD'S 
  • Head coach Andre Cook has coached for 14 years with the Hilltoppers, putting together a 242-163 record leading up to this season.
  • With a 10-6 conference record, St. Edward's holds the number 5 spot in the conference standings.
  • The Hilltoppers sophomore center, Sean Elkinton, is one of the leading scorers in the LSC with 17.8 points per game. He also pulls down a strong 8 boards a game and is shooting 54% from the field.
  • The Hilltoppers boast a strong group of upperclassmen, Gavino Ramos, Blake Nielsen, and Jeff Gary, who are all putting up double-digit scoring for St. Edward's.
THE LAST MATCHUP
  • St. Edward's did not have an answer for Quinton Johnson II in their first meeting of the year, as he recorded a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double in the win.
