PORTALES, N.M. - On a night where Oklahoma Christian shot just 39.1 percent (18-of-46) compared the Eastern New Mexico's 53.1 (34-of-64) field-goal percentage, the Lady Eagles fell to the Greyhounds in the Lone Star Conference opener, 84-48.
Taylor Jackson led the scoring for OC with her fourth double-digit game after recording 15 points.
Kate Bradley backed up Jackson as the only other Eagle to hit double digits with 10 points, including a pair of triples. Bradley has made at least two three-pointers in every game this season.
Oklahoma Christian (3-2, 0-1 LSC) held the lead after one quarter of play, 23-22, but a six-point second quarter which saw OC make just two field goals proved to be the difference. Eastern New Mexico took a one-point deficit and made it to an 11-point halftime advantage and never looked back.
The Lady Eagles were able to keep it within reach with a competitive third quarter that saw ENMU extend its lead by just two, but another low-scoring fourth quarter opened the door for the Greyhounds to run away with the 2024-25 conference debut.
Oklahoma Christian will have a day off as it heads east to take on West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas, Saturday, Dec. 7 for a 1 p.m. CT tip.
