EDMOND, Okla. - With only four matches remaining in the 2024 campaign, Oklahoma Christian will head to the Lone Star state one final time this regular season when it battles Lubbock Christian Friday, Nov. 8 at 6 p.m. followed by No. 13 Angelo State Saturday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.

EAGLE OUTLOOK (18-8, 7-5 LSC)
Oklahoma Christian comes into Friday's match against Lubbock Christian having won nine of its last 10 matches, including four in a row. Most recently, a hobbled Eagles squad went on the road and defeated Cameron, 3-2, for OC's seventh conference win of the season, matching its most ever Lone Star Conference victories.

Against the Aggies, Chloe Jones saw her best hitting percentage of the season when administering at least 40 total swings with .366, despite being negative after the first two sets. Across the final three stanzas, Jones recorded 17 kills to just one error, including eight winners in the fourth set. Thanks to Jones, OC as a team is hitting .219 on the year, which is eighth in the conference. Lubbock Christian is allowing opponents to hit .223 per match while Angelo is at .172.

The Eagles are currently seventh in the league standings and are two matches ahead of ninth. With eight teams making the LSC Tournament, OC can secure a spot in the postseason with either wins in three of its four remaining matches or have ninth-place Texas Permian Basin and tenth-place Midwestern State lose two of its remaining contests. Oklahoma Christian and Permian Basin will face off in the penultimate match of the regular season Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m.

The first half of these postseason-defining matches begins with the Lady Chaparrals Friday. Oklahoma Christian has never beaten LCU, falling in the five all-time meetings. Prior to last season, OC had never taken a set off of Lubbock Christian, but in the first meeting of 2023, the Eagles came within one set, falling 3-2 in Lubbock. Oklahoma Christian is 1-2 all-time against Angelo State, however, OC was swept by the Rambelles in San Angelo, Texas, last season.

SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN (12-10, 8-4 LSC)
Lubbock Christian enters the weekend one match ahead of OC in the standings at 8-4. Six of those wins have come in the last eight contests, which included a five-match winning streak for LCU. The Lady Chaparrals have lost two of their last three, with their win one win during that time coming in five sets on the road at St. Edward's.

Lubbock Christian boasts the sixth-best hitting team in the conference at .232 and is seeing the fifth-most kills in the conference with 13.64 per set. Leading the offense is junior right side Lily Bickley, who has 259 kills while hitting .326, which is 11th in the league. When not hitting winners, however, LCU is allowing its opponents to 2.47 blocks per set, which is the most in the LSC.

SCOUTING NO. 13 ANGELO STATE (21-2, 11-1 LSC)
Despite being third in the conference standings, Angelo enters this weekend as the only 20-win team in the league, boasting a 21-2 overall record, including being 7-1 at home this season with ASU's last home loss coming in the second match of the season against then-No. 23 Central Oklahoma, 3-2. The Rambelles are currently riding a nine-match winning streak.

Angelo St. is leading the conference in kills per set (14.30) and assists per set (13.54), which is 10th and seventh, respectively, in NCAA Division II, while also being Top-3 in every other major offensive statistical category. Defensively, ASU is sixth in the LSC with 1.87 blocks per game second with 17.15 digs per set. Leading both sides of the net is graduate student outside hitter Evelyn Torres with a league-third most 314 kills and freshman middle blocker Sydney Thornton with 1.02 blocks per set - tied for third in the LSC.
