Oklahoma Christian Wins Inaugural Match with Sul Ross State, 4-0.

EDMOND, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian beat Sul Ross State University in the first ever meeting between the two programs.

What Went Down
  • Kyla Lovelace scored from the penalty kick in the 11' minute of the game. In the second half, Jaycie Daggs followed her lead and scored off a free kick in the 51'.
  • Both players matched their first-half output. Lovelace's second goal came off a Mady Castro shot which the goalkeeper cleared, only for Lovelace to put in the back of the net off the rebound.
  • Jaycie Daggs was not to be outdone and scored her second goal from the free kick position in 71', hitting the bottom left third of the net from near midfield.
Notes
  • The Eagles are 2-1-1 through four conference matches. This is the best start through four league contests OC has had since joining the Lone Star Conference.
  • A Senior from Mustang, Okla., Kyla Lovelace has now 27 career goals. In today's game she had eight shots, five of which were on goal. So far, she has nine goals, which is already one more than she had all of last season.
  • A freshman from Moore, Okla., Jaycie Daggs had two shots in today's game, they were both off a free kick and she scored both. She now has three goals on the year.
