First Quarter
The offense was hard to come by for both teams in the first few minutes of the opening quarter. The defensive play was physical, and both teams caused several turnovers.
As the quarter continued, the Hilltoppers were able to grab a five-point lead, but the Eagles kept themselves from getting behind by being tough on the glass, out-rebounding the Hilltoppers twelve to eight in the quarter.
Second Quarter
Fouls began to mount up for the Eagles in the second quarter, as the Hilltoppers were in the bonus with six minutes left in the half. After falling behind ten points, the Eagles locked down on defense, causing several turnovers in the last few minutes of the second quarter and pulling within three points of the Hilltoppers.
The Eagles were led in the half by Jordan Francisco, Asiyha Smith, and Keira Neal. The three players combined to go six of six from the foul line and keep the Eagles in the game.
Third Quarter
The physical play of both teams continued to dominate the game as points were hard to come by, and knocking down free throws became the critical factor in the game.
The Eagles would go into the fourth quarter down eleven and look to make a run in the last ten minutes of play.
Fourth Quarter
Brooklin Bain and Keira Neal had a big fourth quarter to keep the Eagles in the game late. The two combined for fourteen points in the final ten minutes but were unable to get past the Hilltoppers.
