Lady Eagles Take #21 Dustdevils Down to the Wire at Home

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian (2-10, LSC 1-7) played a hard-fought game against a ranked Texas A&M International squad (14-2, LSC 6-2) for their home opener in 2024.
 
First Quarter
Texas A&M International took a 22-8 lead with 3:08 to play in the opening ten, but the Eagles clawed back, ending the quarter on a 7-0 run to cut the lead down to 7 heading into the second quarter.
 
Asiyha Smith and Brooklin Bain kept the Eagles in the game, scoring five a piece in the first quarter.
 
Second Quarter
The Eagles and the Dustdevils went back and forth, trading punches in scoring all quarter. The Eagles bench played a big role in the quarter as they outscored the Dustdevils bench 15-8. OC was led in the quarter by Keira Neal, as she was able to get some shots to fall and grab a few tough rebounds. Taylor Jackson led the Eagles in scoring, dropping ten in the first half.
 
The Eagles were able to go into half only down by nine points, looking to get the momentum to stay with them as the second half began.
 
Third Quarter
The Eagles continued to keep the game close and fight their way back from behind. As the game began to get more physical, Bain and Jackson continued to lead the Eagles on the offense end.
 
Fourth Quarter
The Eagles would outscore the Dustdevils in the fourth quarter 27-22, led by Keira Neal off the bench with seven in the quarter. OC would also score some clutch late baskets to make TAMIU feel the pressure late, before coming up short and dropping the game 78-85.

  • Brooklin Bain finished the night with 14 points and 7 boards.
