DENTON, Texas. - Oklahoma Christian (4-1-2, LSC 0-1-1) took its undefeated record down I-35 for a matchup against Lone Star Conference opponent Texas Woman's (7-1-1, LSC 2-1).
WHAT WENT DOWN
- Texas Woman's started aggressively, with shots in the 4th, 8th, and ultimately a goal off a corner kick in the 11th minute to take a 1-0 lead.
- Breanna Wooten made her first of three first-half saves in the 20th minute.
- The Eagles got their first chance in the 37th minute when Kyla Lovelace stepped to the penalty mark for a penalty kick, but an incredible save by the TWU keeper kept the lead for the Pioneers.
- Wooten made her third save of the half in the 42nd minute to keep the TWU lead at one going into halftime.
- Both attacks slowed down in the second half, with only two shots for each squad, and Texas Woman's took the match 1-0.
NOTES
- Tonight's loss was the Eagles' first of the season, giving the Eagles the second-best start to a season in the last fourteen years.
- Ellise Foreman led OC with two shots, and Lovelace had the lone shot on goal.
- Wooten had four saves to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
- TWU's goal was only the third OC has allowed in seven games, thanks to the Eagles' stifling defense and goalkeeper play.
