OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Oklahoma Christian men's soccer (1-3-3) hosted UT Tyler (3-1-2) tonight in a non-conference matchup between the conference foes as a part of the three-game conference tune-up for the Eagles.
WHAT WENT DOWN
- The Eagles dominated the first half, holding the Patriots without a shot while taking seven of their own, including three on goal.
- UT Tyler's goalkeeper, Berlinngeri, made three saves that most keepers probably couldn't, keeping OC out of the net. OC's best chance came in the 38th minute when Igor Caballero sent a rocket toward the goal that Berlingeri barely got a fist on to deflect it away from the goal.
- OC's defense held up in the second half, holding UTT without a shot until they broke through in the 75th minute to score on their first shot of the match.
- Zach Snow got a good look that was saved in the 77th minute, and the Eagles got two more chances in the final minute that the Patriots kept out of the net to take the 1-0 win.
NOTES
- The Eagles' 14 shots were the most in the last three games, and the seven on goal were the second most this season.
- Isaias Silva led Oklahoma Christian with three shots, two of those were on goal. Eight different Eagles took shots in a spread attack that kept pressure on UT Tyler the entire match.
- The shutout marks the first time since 2021 that OC was shut out in back-to-back games.
