COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Men's soccer (1-1-3) hit the road for matchups against two top-15 RMAC opponents and opened the extended weekend with a match against No. 14 University of Colorado Colorado Springs (3-0-2).
WHAT WENT DOWN
- Ellis Jones got the Eagles on the scoreboard first, with his third goal this season in the thirteenth minute.
- The goal was assisted by Elliott Forestier on a corner kick. The assist was Forestier's fourth of the season, and it was the second time the duo have connected for a goal this season.
- The Mountain Lions responded in the seventeenth minute to tie the match.
- With it tied at halftime, OC's best chance came in the 66th minute when John Ighede looked to have scored, but the UCCS goalkeeper made a leaping save to keep the score even.
- UCCS looked to score in the 76th minute when a shot ricocheted off Fynn Koerner, but the Eagles were able to clear the second chance opportunity.
NOTES
- Koerner made four saves, and the team made two saves to keep the Mountain Lions' attack at bay.
- 50% of the Eagles 10 shots were on goal, and they were led on the attack by Forestier. And nine different Eagles attempted a shot.
