LSC Release
RICHARDSON, Texas - The Lone Star Conference announced the 2023 Lone Star Conference women's soccer preseason poll and Oklahoma Christian was tabbed 10th after finishing in 12th place last season.
The poll is voted on by LSC coaches, sports information directors, and a media representative from each school. OC finished the voting with 149 points, finishing ahead of Texas Woman's at 127 points and behind Texas A&M International, who came in at 182 points.
The conference also announced a Players to Watch list featuring an offensive player, a defensive player, and a goalkeeper from each school to highlight for the upcoming season. Representing OC on the list as the defensive player to watch was senior
Brooklyn Fink, junior
Kyla Lovelace made the list as the offensive player, and
Ashlee Jackson was named the goalkeeper to watch.
Fink was an eraser on the back line last season, while also scoring a goal and assisting on two more. Lovelace led the team in goals last year with four, to bring her career total to 10. Jackson made five starts last season and only allowed a goal in one of those appearances, making a season-high four saves against West Texas A&M.
