Dickson spins a one-hitter as Eagles complete sweep of No. 7 Chaparrals

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Another dominant performance from Jill Dickson led Oklahoma Christian past No. 7 Lubbock Christian, on Saturday for a series sweep.

Dickson opened the first inning by working around a bases-loaded jam that occurred due to a non-existent strike zone. But in the bottom half, LCU found themselves in the same situation and worked around it.

The Eagles defense flashed the leather over the next couple of innings with Brooklin Bain making a heads-up play to cut down a potential run, and Kristen Whitehouse making an over-the-shoulder catch to rob LCU of a hit.

In the bottom of the third, the Eagles took a lead that they wouldn't surrender on an RBI sacrifice bunt from Whitney Walde. Walde brought home Brooklin Bain who walked, stole second, and moved to third base on a bunt single from Whitehouse.

Dickson worked around a lead-off walk in the 4th and picked up two of her 7 strikeouts in the top of the 5th.

Aaliyah Brown started the bottom of the 6th with a double to right field, and Kiley Brewster came in to pinch run for her. Brewster advanced to third on a Boo Robinson flyout and came home to score on a Kylie Janzen RBI sacrifice fly.

The Chaps got their first hit of the day in the top of the 7th, but Dickson shut down LCU the rest of the way to pick up her 7th win of the season.
