Oklahoma City, Okla. - No. 25 Oklahoma Christian won a pitcher's duel to win their fourth straight Lone Star Conference series.
Â
The Eagles got on the board first with a home run from
Kristen Whitehouse in the bottom of the first. The home run was Whitehouse's 2nd of the season and her 9th RBI of the season.
Â
Jill Dickson didn't allow a hit through the first three innings and picked up four of her eight strikeouts in the first three innings.
Â
In the 4th inning, the Rambelles got their first run and hit on the same swing, tying the game with a solo home run. Angelo State followed the home run with a single and moved the runner to second with two outs, but
Brooklin Bain made a great defensive play on the third base line to get the Eagles out of the inning.
Â
Dickson locked back in after the two hits in the fourth and faced the minimum in the fifth and sixth innings.
Â
Whitney Walde led off the bottom of the 6th with a double, and back-to-back walks from
Aaliyah Brown and
Boo Robinson loaded the bases.
Kylie Janzen who subbed in earlier with a pinch-hit at-bat was up next and gave the Eagles the lead with a groundout RBI.
Â
The RBI gave OC a 2-1 lead, and Dickson worked around a 2-out walk in the top of the 7th to secure her 11th win of the season, and the series win for the Eagles. Dickson only allowed two hits to go along with eight strikeouts in her 9th complete game of the season.
