San Antonio, Texas - The Eagles battled the Rattlers in the team's second matchup of the season tonight in San Antonio.
St. Mary's took a 25-8 lead early in the first half, but the Eagles battled and went on a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 27-17 with just under seven minutes to play.
Drew Tennial scored six of the nine points for OC to spark the Eagles' offense.
The Rattlers tried to expand their lead again, taking a 40-25 lead until OC cut the lead to 40-31 with an
Antonio Gordon old-fashioned three-point play and a three from
Shane Perales, who got the start in his hometown. STMU made a jumper to end the half and took a 42-31 lead into the break.
Nine Eagles played in the first half, and all nine scored, led by Perales, with 7 points, and Tennial added 6 points to lead the Oklahoma Christian offense.
In the second half, the Rattlers held a lead that ranged from 10-14 points, until OC cut the lead on another Gordon jumper that cut the Rattlers' lead to 64-57, with 4:23 to left in the game. After the Oklahoma Christian run St. Mary's held on to win 73-59.
