WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT OC

  • Kendre Talley enters his fifth season as head coach for the Eagles.

  • The Eagles are led by returning senior guards Moun'Tae Edmundson & Karlyn Kenner, who averaged 11.7 pts, 3.5 ast, and 1.4 stl & 10.3 pts, 3.7 ast, and 1.0 stl, respectively.

  • OC maintains a roster with a lot of depth after adding ECU grad transfer Quinton Johnson II, DI transfer Bryce Kennedy, and incoming freshman Miles Gibson to an already experienced group.

  • The Eagles are hoping to build off of their strong preseason performances against UCO, Tulsa, and Calvary Bible.

KNOW THE OPPONENT- BLACK HILLS STATE

  • Black Hills State is coached by Ryan Thompson, who is entering his sixth year with the program.

  • Thompson returns a younger group led by Matthew Ragsdale, the Yellow Jackets only returning starter.

  • After graduating former D2CCA National Player of the Year, Joel Scott, the Yellow Jackets brought in 10 newcomers to make up their new-look team.

  • The Eagles look to get their first win in their short history against BHSU after losing a close 80-73 battle at home last year. Their only other meeting was in an OT loss to start the 2021-2022 season.

KNOW THE OPPONENT- METROPOLITAN STATE

  • The Roadrunners are in their second season under head coach Dan Ficke.

  • MSU Denver is returning nine from last year's roster while bringing in four transfers who were coached by Ficke during his stint at Belmont Abbey (N.C.).

  • The Roadrunners are returning two of their leading scorers in Brayden Maldonado—last year's RMAC Co-Freshman of the Year—and forward Caleb McGill who averaged 13.8 points and 4.9 rebounds last season.

  • Around this time last year, the Eagles hosted the Roadrunners and came away with a 80-55 victory. In the win, the Eagles had five players score in double-digits.
