Eagles Battle With Texas Permian Basin, as OC Continues to Make a Push for the Postseason

ODESSA, Texas- Oklahoma Christian (13-13, LSC 5-8) took on Texas Permian Basin (17-7, LSC 8-5) in Odessa, TX, Friday evening. Both teams are looking to crawl up the Lone Star Conference rankings with just a few matches left in the regular season. 

SET ONE

The match began with a back and forth first set that ended up going into extra points as UTPB ended up taking the win in set one. 

SET TWO

The Eagles came out strong in set two to battle back to tie the match at 1-1. The Eagles were led in this set by Giorgia Turri

SET THREE

Set three was a battle of runs, as each team would take their shots and gain a lead before the momentum would swing the other way. UTPB grabbed the momentum late in the third set and finished it with a win.

SET FOUR

The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in set four. After a big run by UTPB, OC would work their way back into the a battle before UTPB put the match away in the fourth set.

NOTES

  • The Eagles are needing to add some more wins into their record to have a shot at the Lone Star Conference tournament.

  • Rainey Aven continues to step up in a big way as she adds 34 assists to her stat line. Also adding 5 kills, 3 serving aces, and 14 digs. 

  • Giorgia Turri also continued her successful seasons with 16 kills, 4 blocks, 1 ace, 4 assists, and 22 digs.

  • Camryn McGough is continuing to climb up the blocks leaderboard as she adds 7 blocks tonight. 

  • Annie Davis adds to her kill total on the year with 9 more. Davis also made an impact at the net with 2 blocks. 

UP NEXT 

 The Eagles will continue this weekend road trip by taking on Angelo State, Saturday November, 4th at 2 p.m. The Rambelles currently sit second in the Lone Star Conference and the Eagles will be looking to complete the big upset.
