WICHITA FALLS, Texas - Oklahoma Christian (1-5-5, LSC 0-1-1) wrapped up its conference-opening road trip with a matchup against No. 2 Midwestern State (10-0-1, LSC 2-0) in Wichita Falls.
WHAT WENT DOWN
- Back-to-back Alvar Silva shots were kept out of goal, one hitting the woodwork, and the next saved by a MSU defender to keep the score even.
- The Mustangs struck first, with a goal from Dereck Espinal in the 25th minute to give MSU a 1-0 advantage.
- OC's defense locked in over the next fifty minutes, giving the offense a chance to equalize.
- Part of that included Fynn Koerner shutting down the conference's top goal scorer, Mere Escobar, on back-to-back shots to keep the Eagles within striking distance.
- Lawson Ford put two shots on goal in the 31st, and 32nd minute, but the Midwestern State goalkeeper kept the Eagles off the board.
- In the second half, Elliott Forestier put a shot on the frame in the 66th minute, but another MSU save kept their sheet clean.
- Koerner saved another Escobar shot in the 70th minute, but Escobar found the back of the net in the 75th minute.
- Ryo Higano put a shot on goal for the Eagles just before Escobar's goal, but it was saved as well.
- MSU added another goal in the 81st minute to take the match 3-0.
