WHAT WENT DOWN
- The Eagles and Hilltoppers each took three shots in the first half, but it was OC who broke through first on Lawson Ford's first career goal. Ford's goal was a rocket sent to the right side of the net from just outside the left side of the 18-yard box. Joshua Waite assisted on the goal, which was also his first of the season.
- OC limited SEU to just one shot on goal out of the three allowed, and Fynn Koerner was able to clean it up.
- The match saw ten yellow cards, five on St. Edward's players, three to OC players, and one to each bench.
- Oklahoma Christian shut the Hilltoppers out for 79 minutes, but in the 80th, they were able to equalize the match with an unassisted goal.
- St. Edward's picked up a red card in the 84th minute, giving the Eagles a man up during the final six minutes of play, and they were almost able to capitalize. Ellis Jones, OC's leading goal scorer, had a solid look in the 88th minute, but it went just wide of the frame.
- Jones' shot went on to be the final shot of the match, and the conference opener ended in a draw.
Â
NOTES
- Lawson became the seventh Eagle to tally a goal this season with his first in an Eagles uniform.
- The draw today ties OC for the most in a season in program history with last year's 11-5–5 record.
