Forestier’s Goal Drives the Eagles Past the Greyhounds

PORTALES, New Mexico - Oklahoma Christian (4-7-6, LSC 3-3-2) traveled to New Mexico to take on the Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico (4-7-5, LSC 2-3-3). The Eagles grab another win on the season as the conference tournament is just a week away. 

WHAT WENT DOWN

  • The first half was a game of ball possession, as neither team could get much going. 

  • OC's defense held strong, only allowing two shots on goal the whole game. 

  • In the 70th minute of play, Elliott Forestier sent an amazing ball off a corner kick and curled it in perfectly to score for the Eagles. 

  • The defense also showed grit playing the last few minutes of the game with only 10 men on the field as Ellis Jones received a red card in the 82nd minute of play. 

NOTES 

  • The Eagles now sit 4th in the Lone Star Conference with one game left to play in the regular season. 

  • Ellis Jones is currently 11th in scoring with 5 goals. 

  • Elliott Forestier scored his second goal of the season. 

  • Forestier is currently 8th in the conference in assists with 4. He is also 6th in the conference for shots on goal with 16.

UP NEXT 

The Eagles will host Dallas Baptist on Wednesday, November 1st, as the regular season finale and senior night. Kick-off will be at 7 p.m. at Eagle Soccer Field.
