Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Eagles returned to the Nest for their last home game of the month to take on St. Mary.
The matchup started with the team's exchanging baskets with a
Moun'Tae Edmundson three that brought the score to 11-9 St. Mary's, but then the Rattlers struck with a 9-0 run, and the rattlers held a lead in the range of 9-12 points, until late in the first half.
The Eagles continued to try to widdle the score down, and
Antonio Gordon brought some momentum to the Eagles side with a thunderous dunk at the end of the half to cut the lead to 32-23 heading into the break.
Karlyn Kenner led the Eagles with 6 points at the break to go with three assists, and
Drew Tennial and
Shane Perales each scored 5 points in the half.
St. Mary's opened the half on fire, and their lead grew to 19 points with 13:39 remaining, but Oklahoma Christian didn't back down and continued to battle. With 4:40 remaining, a pair of free throws from
D.J. Walter cut the lead down to 9 and brought the crowd back into the game. As the Eagles tried to cut into the deficit, the Rattlers continued to answer and held on to win 72-59.
