Claremore, Okla. - The men's soccer team traveled to Claremore today and earned a result against Rogers State (RSU), who received votes in this week's coaches poll.
Â
The Eagles (4-0-1), down a man for the entire second half, held the Hillcats (2-1-2) scoreless in a defensive battle at Soldier Field.
Fynn Koerner and the Eagles' defense had their first clean sheet this season.
Â
Koerner had two saves, none more significant than the one he made smothering a shot at the buzzer. The defense also came up huge as they blocked two shots in a three-shot barrage at the end of the match.
Â
OC's offense put more shots on goal than RSU but was kept out of the net by some extra-effort saves from RSU's keeper.
Â
The Eagles are back at home this Saturday at 3 p.m. as they take on the Bison of Harding for the first time since 2018.
