Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Eagles (2-4-2, 0-3 LSC) returned home after a road trip to San Angelo, to take on the Chaps from Lubbock Christian (5-0-4, 2-0-1 LSC) today at Eagle Soccer Field.
Oklahoma Christian held control for the first 50 minutes of the match, and from the jump was putting pressure on the back line of LCU. Manon Ceresola broke through in the first minute and put a shot on goal that the keeper got just enough of to deflect off the crossbar.
But for a 9-minute gap between the 51st and the 60th minute the Chaps offense came alive, netting three goals in short order to take a 3-0 lead.
OC came alive though and immediately responded with several great attacks, and ultimately found the back of the net in the 68th minute. Ceresola, from about 23 yards out, laced a free kick to the right side of the net to cut the lead to 3-1.
The offensive attack continued the rest of the match, outshooting the Chaps 8-2, but the shots didn't find a way in.
"Today was a bit heartbreaking. We had an amazing 1st half and switched off for about ten minutes in the 2nd half and it cost us." coach Dresel said after the match.
The Eagles will head to Tyler, Texas to take on Texas-Tyler at 1 p.m. on Saturday for their next match.
