No. 17 Oklahoma Christian takes on No. 4 Midwestern State in a non-conference matchup

Wichita Falls, Texas - Men's soccer (6-1-1) went down to Texas to compete in a top-20 matchup, where they took on No. 4 Midwestern State (6-0-1) in a non-conference matchup.

The Eagles controlled the first half, outshooting the Mustangs 5-2, and put three of those shots on goal. And the great play continued on into the second half as it appeared the Eagles had scored, but the offsides call by the linesman was recognized late. The offside call brought the ball back and Midwestern scored subsequently on the counter. And just 30 seconds, the same Midwestern player struck again to take a 2-0 lead.

OC will get to face Midwestern State again next Saturday, but this time it will be at Eagle Soccer Field in a Lone Star Conference match.

Isaias Silva and Alejandro Colom led the Eagles' offense in shots, and Fynn Koerner had two saves on the night.

"It's never a nice feeling when you lose, especially when you know you were in the game and had moments to be on top." coach Sowerby said after the match. "We will learn from it as a group, and come back stronger. Our focus turns to another test on Saturday as we face off against WT."

No. 17 Oklahoma Christian will return home this Saturday to take on West Texas A&M at 7 p.m. in a game under the lights at Eagle Soccer Field.
