Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Lady Eagles led from start to finish in a dominant win against Arkansas-Fort Smith to give head coach
Markeith Brown his first DII win as an early Christmas present before the break.
Â
The Eagles opened the game with an 8-0 run thanks to 3-pointers from
Brooklin Bain and
Kate Bradley and a jumper from
Daijah Torns, forcing a Lady Lions timeout. The timeout did not slow OC down, as they held UAFS to just eight points in the quarter, and OC took a 15-8 lead into the second quarter.
Â
The first quarter momentum carried over into the second, with Oklahoma Christian again holding Fort Smith to just eight points, and this time scoring nineteen of their own.
Kate Bradley had a big quarter scoring nine of her game-high fifteen points to go along with three assists and two rebounds to lead OC to a 34-16 halftime advantage.
Â
Fort Smith looked to rally in the third quarter, winning the quarter 20-13 and cutting the lead down to twelve. But Oklahoma Christian responded by taking the fourth quarter 18-13, with seven different Eagles scoring, to win by seventeen.
Â
Oklahoma Christian will ride the 65-48 win into Christmas break before returning home on December 30th at 5:30 p.m. to take on Texas-Tyler.
