Lubbock, Texas – The Eagles open Lone Star Conference play with a battle against Lubbock Christian.
The Eagles were put under extreme adversity at times, and they continued to find ways to push through each time. Leading throughout the entire first half, and early in the second, the Eagles controlled the game. They continued to get open looks when it mattered most and hit big shots when they needed to.
In overtime, Oklahoma Christian continued to battle back by making LCU go to their fourth and fifth options for scoring several times in the closing moments.
Antonio Gordon put the Eagles on his back at times, finishing the game with 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks, and displayed a beautiful passing game that ended up with 4 assists.
Moun'Tae Edmundson continues his incredible stretch of play, as he ended the battle with 13 points, 3 threes, and 4 rebounds.
Karlyn Kenner did an incredible job, taking on the role of the leading scorer of the Eagles in the game tonight. He scored 16 points, going 4 of 7 from the field, 3 of 4 from three-point land, and 5 of 6 from the charity stripe.
The Eagles will continue their road trip with a stop at West Texas A&M on Saturday with tip-off set at 3:00 pm.
