Edmond, Okla. - The Lady Eagles opened their season at the UCO Classic in a game against Newman (KS).
 
The teams traded baskets in the first quarter, with the Jets taking a 17-14 lead into the 2nd quarter. Kia White led the Eagles in the quarter with 5 points, and five Eagles scored.
 
In the second quarter, Trinity Dobbs and White led OC with 6 and 5 points, respectively. And the two teams tied 12-12, giving Newman a 29-26 halftime lead.
 
The Jets used a 22-9 third quarter to extend their lead to 51-35 going into the fourth quarter, where OC surged to score 27 points, and win the quarter 27-22. The Eagles scored 14 bench points, and nine Eagles scored in the 4th.
 
Oklahoma Christian will return to Hamilton Field House tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. to take on Central Oklahoma.
