Oklahoma City, Okla. - The Eagles (8-4-4, 2-3-2) returned to Eagle Soccer Field, where they are now 6-1-2 on the season to take on Texas Permian Basin (4-4-5, 2-2-3 LSC).
The game had plenty of action, with nineteen shots combined between the teams, and OC led in shots on goal with five.
Oklahoma Christian was led in shots by John Ighede with three, and Alejandro Colom and Danny Gutierrez each had two. The Eagles' offense was just a bit unlucky, as it appeared one shot went in, but the call was that the ball was cleared off of the line.
In the 60th minute, two shots by Alejandro Colom were saved by the UTPB goalkeeper, as he made back-to-back diving saves.
The Eagles were able to return to full strength on defense tonight, with a couple of starters returning, leading them to their 4th shutout of the season.
With the draw (and Midwestern State's win tonight), the Eagles now sit in 7th place in the Lone Star Conference with two games to play. The top six teams in the conference make the LSC Championships, which begin on November 4th.
The Eagles hit the road on Wednesday, for a matchup at 7 p.m. at West Texas A&M before they return home next Saturday for Senior Day and the regular season finale against Eastern New Mexico.
