OKLAHOMA CITY (July 29, 2021) – Justin Nimmer, who played the past two seasons for Central Oklahoma, has transferred to Oklahoma Christian to continue his basketball and academic careers, OC coach Kendre Talley said Thursday.

Nimmer, a 6-foot-6 left-handed guard from DeSoto, Texas, was a steady contributor for the Bronchos the past two seasons. As a redshirt freshman in 2019-20, he played in 29 games (21 starts), averaging 8.5 points and 4.9 rebounds per game and recording his first career double-double against Fort Hays State (Kan.).

Last season, he played in 10 games (five starts) and averaged 5.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game. Before arriving at UCO, Nimmer was a standout at Life Waxahachie High School, earning All-District honors three times and averaging 17 points per game as a senior. He twice was named as a district most valuable player and also earned All-Region honors twice.

He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining at OC.

"We are really excited about the addition of Justin," Talley said. "He fits our identity for this upcoming season perfectly. He is long, athletic and can make plays at both ends of the floor. With the group of guys that we have, he will have a ton of opportunity to be aggressive. He also a high-character kid, who wants to come in and flat-out work. His potential is out of this world and I think this is a perfect situation for him to reach it. Overall, that's what we need to make us a better team."

Nimmer is the fifth player to join the OC roster for the 2021-22 season, joining Southern Nazarene transfer guard Karlyn Kenner of Dallas, Texas State transfer guard Drew Tennial of Edmond, junior-college transfer guard Moun'Tae Edmundson of Oklahoma City and Cowley County (Kan.) and incoming freshman guard Calaway Dykes of Decatur, Texas.
