GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (Feb. 17, 2021) –
Cheyenne Parks won a B final in a school-record time and two Oklahoma Christian relay teams also established new program marks on Wednesday on the first day of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships.
Swimming in Colorado Mesa's El Pomar Natatorium, Parks, a sophomore from Guthrie, Okla., swam an altitude-adjusted time of 2:08.33 in the 200-yard individual medley, breaking her own mark of 2:09.11 set last November in the Eagle Invitational. Her teammate, junior
Grace Hill of Santa Clarita, Calif., qualified for the A final and finished seventh with an altitude-adjusted time of 2:11.21, the best of her career.

Olivia Rollen finished fourth among eight teams in a time of 1:36.81 to break another mark. A third school record fell in the session's finale, with the 200 medley relay squad of
Hope Hill, McGarrigle, Parks and Rollen finishing fourth in 1:47.76.
Sophomore
Mallory Mead of Timonium, Md., recorded OC's best individual finish on Wednesday, finishing fifth in the 1,000 freestyle in 10:59.02. Junior
Maggie Farley of Humble, Texas, also earned team points for the Eagles with a 10th-place finish in 11:19.78.
In the 50-yard freestyle, McGarrigle, a senior from Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., made the A final and finished sixth in 24.15 seconds. Rollen, a freshman from Edmond, Okla., qualified for the B final and placed 14th in 24.57 seconds.
In the team race, Colorado Mesa surged to the early lead with 270.5 points, with Colorado School of Mines second (131), Oklahoma Baptist third (128.5) and OC fourth (118). Fifth-place Western Colorado had 82 points on the opening day of the four-day meet, followed by Colorado State-Pueblo with 77, Nebraska-Kearney with 59 and Adams State (Colo.) with 27.
Events scheduled for Thursday include the 100 butterfly, 400 individual medley, 200 freestyle and 400 medley relay.
