ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (Oct. 8, 2021) –
Cheyenne Parks won two events and Oklahoma Christian picked up three wins in other races, but the Eagles fell 131-121 to Henderson State in a dual meet on Friday at Wells Natatorium.
Parks, a sophomore from Guthrie, Okla., led a 1-2 OC finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle, finishing in 10:45.10, with freshman
Laura Byars of Lubbock, Texas, second in 10:55.48. Parks later won the 200 backstroke in 2:08.04, with freshman
Julia Flores second (2:11.55) and sophomore
Hope Hill of Santa Clarita, Calif., third (2:12.41).
In the 100 backstroke, freshman
Vivian Pitsch of Koblenz, Germany, won in 59.88 seconds.
Mallory Mead, a sophomore from Timonium, Md., won the 500 freestyle in 5:20.31, and the 400 freestyle relay team of
Olivia Rollen,
Hope Hill, Flores and
Andrea Rogers won in 3:42.78.
Kiara Pozvai led Henderson State, winning three races (the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle) for the Reddies.
OC will travel across the street in Arkadelphia for another meet on Saturday at Ouachita Baptist (Ark.).
