PORTALES, N.M. (Oct. 16, 2021) – Oklahoma Christian finished its latest two-match Lone Star Conference volleyball road trip on Saturday afternoon, falling 3-0 (25-20, 25-23, 25-18) to Eastern New Mexico at Greyhound Arena.
Caitlynne Hudgens had six kills and 10 digs to lead OC (6-13, 2-8 LSC). Eastern New Mexico (2-15, 2-7) closed the first set on a 7-2 run, then took the second set after the Eagles committed consecutive errors after the score was tied 23-23. The Greyhounds opened the third set on a 9-3 run and OC was unable to catch them.
Kyla Chavez had 16 assists for OC, while
Brylie Berryman added 10 digs. Jasmine Gannon paced Eastern New Mexico with 17 kills and 12 digs.
OC will visit nonconference foe Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday before returning to LSC play at home on Friday against St. Edward's (Texas). Last February, OC won in five sets at Southwestern in its first collegiate match since fall 1983.
