Eagles to resume season with trip to Angelo State

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Jan. 2, 2021) – After a two-week break for the holidays, Oklahoma Christian's men's basketball season will resume Sunday and Monday with a pair of Lone Star Conference games at Angelo State (Texas).

Game time in the Junell Center will be 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, with Monday's start time to be determined. The Monday game originally had been scheduled for Saturday, but hazardous travel conditions after heavy snow fell in Oklahoma City early Friday resulted in that game being delayed two days. The Sunday game was unaffected by the postponement.

Angelo State is allowing 50 percent capacity for games. Tickets will only available on the day of the game, with limited availability. For weekend games, tickets will be available one hour before the game at the gate. While in attendance, masks are required at all times unless actively eating or drinking.

OC (0-2, 0-2 LSC) lost a pair of home games to a strong Lubbock Christian (Texas) team on Dec. 18-19, after the Eagles had a pair of games at Texas A&M International on Dec. 11-12 postponed due to the league's COVID-19 protocols. Freshman guard Elijah Elliott is averaging 16.0 points and 3.5 assists per game for OC, with freshman forward Nyk Madison averaging 12.0 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Angelo State (1-3, 1-3) lost 101-75 and 93-86 at Dallas Baptist (Texas) to open the season, then split a pair of home games with Texas A&M-Kingsville, winning 83-66 and losing 79-67. Sam Baker, a transfer from NCAA Division I McNeese State, leads the Rams in scoring at 17.5 points per game, while senior guard Paul Williams is averaging 9.5 points and 3.3 assists per game.

OC and Angelo State have only played once – last season, when the Rams won 71-61 in Oklahoma City.
