Ana Carolina Ferreira, a proven goal-scorer for Coffeyville (Kan.) Community Conference the past two seasons, has signed to continue her college soccer career at Oklahoma Christian, OC coach
Meagan Anderson said Wednesday.
Ferreira, a 5-foot-9 forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil, played in 33 games for Coffeyville in 2018 and 2019 with 16 starts, recording four goals and three assists.
"Ana will be a player we expect to make an immediate impact on the offensive end of the field," Anderson said. "This has been an area we have struggled to make consistent. It is our vision to use her strength and size to hold more possession in the attacking third of the field. She has had a positive junior college experience so will also lean on that for leadership."
Ferreira will join an incoming class that includes five freshmen – goalkeeper
Ashlee Jackson and midfielder
Grace Cornelius, both of Mustang, Okla.; defenders
Ryan Ackerman of Edmond, Okla., and
Reagan Keiser of The Colony, Texas; and midfielder
Jenna White of Thornton, Colo. – and transfers Ferreira, midfielder
Savanna Suttles of Moore, Okla. (Northeastern Oklahoma A&M) and midfielder
Ellise Foreman of Mustang (Oral Roberts).
The Eagles' regular-season opener is scheduled for Sept. 8 at home against Southern Nazarene.
