COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Feb. 19, 2020) –
Jamie McGarrigle and her four teammates who made up Oklahoma Christian's 800-yard freestyle relay team officially are the OC program's first All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference swimmers.
The RMAC released its all-conference team Wednesday, four days after the end of the RMAC Championships, held in Grand Junction, Colo. To make the first-team list, swimmers had to finish first or second in an event, with second-team honors going to third- and fourth-place finishers.
McGarrigle, a junior from Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., earned first-team honors with a second-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a school-record time of 24.01 seconds, which met the NCAA Division II B qualifying standard.
OC's 800 freestyle relay team finished fourth, obliterating the previous school record by more than 13 seconds with a time of 7:51.46. The team consisted of
Kayci McKinnon, a freshman from Trophy Club, Texas;
Cheyenne Parks, a freshman from Guthrie, Okla.;
Savanna Barth, a sophomore from Stillwater, Okla.; and
Hope Hill, a freshman from Santa Clarita, Calif.
The Eagles posted a fourth-place team finish in the RMAC meet, the best in the program's three-season history.
