OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 16, 2020) – For the first time in her collegiate career, Oklahoma Christian's
Jamie McGarrigle was recognized Monday as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference's women's swimmer of the week.
The RMAC recognized McGarrigle for her performance in the Eagle Invitational, which was held Friday through Sunday at the Mitch Park YMCA pool in Edmond. The senior from Indian Harbour Beach, Fla., won two events, finished second in a third event, made an A final in a fourth and swam on two winning relay teams as the Eagles swept to the team title.
Showing her versatility, she won both the 100-yard freestyle (53.34 seconds) and 100 butterfly (58.57 seconds) and made the A final – placing sixth – in the 100 backstroke (1:00.48). She also was the runner-up in the 50 freestyle (24.36 seconds) and swam on OC's winning 400 freestyle relay team (3:59.09).
OC swept the RMAC awards this week, as junior Brandon Heredia received the men's honor.
